The COVID-19 has had a considerable impact on travel over the past two years. Although the majority of this influence has been negative, camping has seen a sharp rise in popularity. More than half of travelers (53%) included camping in some or all of their travel in 2021, accounting for 40% of all leisure vacations. Camping has become a popular type of travel for leisure tourists who might otherwise stay at home, and many say they will continue to do so through the year 2022 and beyond.
