This poll was conducted between October 14 – 16, 2022 among a sample of 4000 U.S. adults. The interviews were conducted online and the data were weighted to approximate a target sample of adults based on gender, age, race, educational attainment, and region. Results from the full survey have a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
Based on the combined average of Morning Consult and AHLA’s important indicators – travel tendency, economic wellbeing, and preference for hotels over other lodging options – the short-term forecast for the hotel industry is highly positive.
A majority of people who are absolutely certain they would travel in the upcoming three months would choose to stay in a hotel over alternative types of accommodations.
